Mayne Wetherell

The existing site was built on WordPress and was showing its age, slow server response times, a declining keyword footprint, and a design that didn't match the calibre of the firm's work or people.
At the same time, the firm was managing two separate WordPress sites: the main maynewetherell.com and a graduate recruitment portal that only ran for a few months each year. Maintaining both was cumbersome, and neither was optimised for search.
The brief was clear: create a clean, structured, high-performing site that showcases the firm's expertise, people, and culture, that the internal team could manage themselves without relying on a developer for every update.

Discovery & Strategy
We started where we always do, by getting under the skin of the business. Through discovery sessions with key stakeholders, we mapped out the firm's practice areas, client audiences, and competitive landscape, and developed a content and information architecture plan to guide the build.
Design
The design direction took its cues directly from Mayne Wetherell's brand: clean, authoritative, and minimal. Bold typography, a strong blue and white palette, and considered use of black-and-white photography give the site a confident, premium feel that holds its own against the biggest firms in the market. We designed both the main site and the graduate recruitment site within a cohesive visual system.
Webflow Development
Both sites, maynewetherell.com and recruitment.maynewetherell.com, were built in Webflow, giving the team a flexible CMS they can manage with confidence. Practice area pages, people profiles, publications, and careers listings are all content-managed, making it straightforward for staff to keep things current without touching code.
SEO Migration & Strategy
We carried out a full pre-migration SEO audit, mapped all existing URLs, and implemented 301 redirects to protect existing ranking signals. On top of that, we developed a keyword strategy targeting the firm's core practice areas with optimised landing pages, metadata, and structured data built in from day one.

The new site launched ahead of the firm's graduate recruitment season, exactly as planned. Faster load times, a dramatically improved SEO foundation, and a design that the team is genuinely proud of.
Perhaps most importantly, the Mayne Wetherell team came away from the project with a real understanding of their new platform, ready to own it.
